What is an Online Course?
How does your online content work in
my course management system?
We deliver our online content in our partner's course management systems
using "content cartridges", which are a group of files that include all
of the necessary elements for a module.
Who are your partners?
Currently, we have partnership arrangements with Blackboard and WebCT.
Our partnership with Blackboard has resulted in the development of CourseCompass,
our private-label web-based version of their leading course management
system. Use of CourseCompass is available free to Pearson Education customers.
What kind of content is contained in
a content cartridge?
Content cartridges may contain a variety of elements specific to a particular
textbook, such as an online study guide, animations, videos, lecture notes,
test files, etc.
Can I incorporate my own material into
a content cartridge?
Absolutely! We encourage you to take advantage of our online partners'
user-friendly tools in order to personalise your course.
Do your content cartridges contain original
content or just repackaged material?
They primarily contain original content designed for web delivery, including
custom created materials and media resources.
Who is responsible for creating the content
that is "published" in one of your content cartridges?
The editorial group that is responsible for each title determines what
is published in both online and print formats. All print and online content
has been written and reviewed by academic authors who were selected for
their content expertise and ability.
